How many cameras does a smartphone need? It looks like Huaweithinks the answer is three.

WinFuture reports the three cameras will include:

- a 40-megapixel color camera

- a 20-megapixel black-and-white camera

- an 8-megapixel telephoto camera

So why do phones need multiple cameras?

Huawei』s Mate 10 Pro uses a regular camera alongside a monochromeone. The black-and-white camera detects how much light is being letin, allowing it to consistently shoot great shots in low-lightconditions.

The iPhone X』s second camera has a telephoto lens for optical zoomand for depth of field in portrait mode photos.

It looks like the P20 Pro could be the best of both worlds, allowing for better shots in low-light situations plus opticalzoom.
